Primary School Program

Grades I - V

Grades 1–5 are included in our primary program. With an emphasis on experiential learning, MJMHSS primary program pedagogy is very child-centric. Even though we continue to follow the Montessori forward program, our primary education intentionally focuses on the students’ early speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Our immersive learning approach improves a child’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.

We offer peer teaching, open question forums, specialized student-teacher chats, and a ton of exciting, hands-on learning activities. We have created pertinent, all-encompassing learning experiences because we think that a happy classroom produces a happy child. We make sure that both indoor and outdoor classes are balanced. Our program places a strong emphasis on using sports and the arts to foster teamwork, which promotes friendship and a sense of community.

For Grades 1, 2, and 3, we use an ongoing, thorough evaluation process. Using a range of tests, it assists teachers in identifying the student’s areas of weakness. By identifying the students’ learning difficulties, it helps to improve and upgrade their performance. Formal exams are introduced to students starting in grade 4. The primary education program provides a seamless transition into secondary education with a focus on creative thinking and holistic education at its heart.

Unique Class Structure

In the formative years, we cultivate an environment similar to a nurturing teacher-student relationship. All subject teachers work together to oversee the holistic development of our young learners. Students begin their day with energy during the Class Teacher (CT) period, which includes circle time, music and movement, life skills, and general knowledge sessions, setting the tone for an active and engaging day of learning.

Theme Based Learning

By organizing our curriculum around engaging themes, we fervently believe in bringing relevance and excitement to education. Hands-on activities centered around each month’s theme foster their natural curiosity and aid in contextualizing the real world. This approach enables children to make meaningful connections between different subjects and understand how concepts are interrelated. Each theme is carefully planned to integrate language, mathematics, science, social studies, and creative arts, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience. Through storytelling, projects, experiments, role-plays, group discussions, and creative activities, students actively participate in their own learning journey.

Interactive Learning

During the first fifteen minutes of the day, students in Grades 4 and 5 engage in a variety of stimulating activities. These activities include book reviews, which encourage a love of reading, and group discussions, which help them confidently voice their opinions in public. Our curriculum encourages subject integration so that students can create connections between various areas of knowledge.

Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation

CCE is an assessment system that aims to evaluate all aspects of a student’s development on a continuous basis. It includes both academic and non-academic skills and tracks progress in a way that is ongoing, supportive, and developmental rather than judgmental.
