MJC School has excelled at several avenues and sports is one of them. We give equal importance, if not more, to extra-curricular activities. There is a famous saying that, ‘All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy’. The school motivates the students to participate in sports activities. Besides that, the school has also included those activities in their day-to-day routine, in order to help them try the sport before making any judgement.

Since the time of our inception, our students have made the school proud in the domain of sports. The school students have participated in multiple sports till the state level. The school encourages them in every possible way, which would, in turn, help them to be the best version of themselves. The school has the following sports activities for its students:

Silambam is a traditional sport of modern-Tamil Nadu. Famous Tamilian kings like Puli Thevar and Dheeran Chinnamalai had armies of Silambam soldiers. Silambam made its first historical appearance in front of the world in front of the committee of the United Nations Assembly. The sport helps the students to resonate to Tamil traditions and culture. It signifies the importance and the popularity of the sport on the world platform. Despite being known for being a sport which concentrates on fighting skills, the sport enhances the flexibility, agility, kinesthetic awareness, balance, stamina and hand-eye coordination of the player. The MJC School introduced Silambam to its students in the year 2019-2020. The students from class IV-XII are trained by Ms Sandhiya, an exceptional practitioner who has won several accolades
